Rapper and YouTube Star, DDG, used his Instagram account to publicly announce his breakup with singer Halle Bailey on Thursday, October 3, 2024. The 26-year-old’s Story detailed that the two remain “best friends” while embracing their new roles as “co-parents.”

After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared. Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co- parents, we cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared. As we navigate this transition, we ask for your understanding and support. Thank you for your love and encouragement.
The Story was posted to DGG’s 6.3 million followers and spread further by fans and news sites. Despite this, the breakup announcement was “quiet” in nature. DDG and Halle appear to want some privacy in this matter.
The two are not currently following each other on Instagram despite still being “best friends.” However, Halle still follows DDG’s mother which suggests that everyone is still amicable. Keen fans may have noticed Halle’s absence from Instagram Posts featuring DDG and their son, Halo. DDG is also missing from Halle’s recent Instagram Posts with Halo. Moreover, a Snapchat video of Halo became the subject of viral memes after DDG shared a precious father-son moment on a toy train ride. Halle was noticeably not in the video.
Their absence in each other’s Posts is evidence that the two may have taken time apart before their official split. However, both of their profiles are a blend of personal and professional so not every post will feature each other. Additionally, both are active entertainers who are focused on building their careers and catering to their audiences.
The star-studded couple dated for a little over 2 years, with rumors of their relationship forming in January 2022. DDG shared that he planned to “eventually” propose to Halle in his November 2023 interview on The Breakfast Club. Their son was born this year in January of 2024.
