Joe Budden Gets Countered for Low Blow Remarks on Michael B. Jordan

These Counters Might Have Joe Punching Air

[Background] Creed star Michael B. Jordan has become the topic of conversation due to his confrontation with The Morning Hustle host Lore’l on the red carpet. Lore’l began her interview with Michael by stating that they “go way back” as if to suggest they had a positive history with one another. Michael quickly countered and playfully asked, “Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right?”. He was referring to a 2021 episode of The Undressing Room podcast where host Dominique Da Diva said that Michael was “corny.” Lore’l, who did not dismiss her co-host’s comment, added that she and others used to make fun of Michael’s name and for bringing his headshots to school. Lore’l has never called Michael B. Jordan “corny” on record.

 Joe Budden decided to weigh in on the conversation in Lore’l’s defense. The host and ‘Pump it Up” rapper had this to say about Michael;

“Dawg, you doing that to a girl is some corny n**ga sh*t.”

He continued to say;

“You being Michael B. Jordan today, allegedly the sexiest man alive, all of these blockbuster movies, during your highlight week, you’ve probably never been more visible than you are this second and that’s what you do to her? Why you talking to our sisters like that on the red carpet when you don’t talk to white b*tches like that.”

The podcast host then added;

“That was corny of him to speak to that girl like that. Michael B. Jordan, that’s why n*ggas call you corny. Hey Creed, in case you was confused, that corny a** sh*t you did is why n*ggas think you’re corny. In case you were off a little bit.”

Twitter users had a field day with Joe Budden’s remarks. Many didn’t take issue with the message but rather the messenger. However, It turns out that the former “Everyday Struggle’ host doesn’t have the best history with women, nor black women for that matter. Users on Twitter were swift to point out this hypocrisy. Here are some of their responses;

Joe Budden was not swayed by the multitude of backlash he received. The podcast host doubled down on his stance about Michael B. Jordan’s corniness in a now deleted Instagram story that read;

“If any other Black multi-millionaire embarrassed a woman working on a red carpet cuz she thought he was corny in the 7th grade, y’all would call him a lot more than corny….Also I work for me & im not firing myself. I said what I said. Get off my d*ck. Love, management.”

It would appear that Joe Budden had a self-reflecting meeting with “management” considering the story was deleted.
